Looking Ahead

Welcome everyone to our first article of the new year. At this time, we take a moment to reflect on the events of the prior year and make plans for the future. Needless to say, 2008 was a tumultuous year. Worldwide the economy slowed and global financial systems experienced unprecedented decline. From Wall Street to Main Street many of us were affected by the turmoil and felt the pressure.



Much closer to home, we along with many of our neighbors, had to endure several bad New England winter storms. A once-in-a-century ice storm brought devastation to the region. We lost power for 4 days but many of our friends and neighbors lost theirs even longer.

The storm brought us closer and at the same time it extended our family. We were fortunate enough to be in position to help at the local shelter the first night of the black-out.

With the extraordinary efforts of many public and utilities workers, heat and lights came back to our house right before Christmas. On Christmas morning, our whole family drove and delivered Christmas Dinners to those who were home-bound. That came as a surprise to our children as they had no idea that was part of the family Christmas plan. We have much more than we realize.

Speaking of making the most of what we have, last year we introduced a searchable Knowledge Base on our web site. The initial reactions from our end-users have been positive. The Knowledge Base articles help our users with timely, relevant, up-to-date information.

In additional to the Knowledge Base, we have implemented a new Multi-Tier Support Plans effective the first of the year. The new plans supersede our decade-old service plan which is no longer appropriate with today's increased use of the internet and email. The plans are intended to offer our customers more choices and to better allocate our resources. For details of the new plans please log in to our web site and download this document.

These time-saving measures allow us to devote more resources toward Research and Development to help extend your system capabilities even further. Some of the new add-on modules include:

We see 2009 as a very challenging year. But like many of you who have been in business through several down economic cycles, we realize that within what appears to be chaotic obstacles there lie opportunities. And so with every hope that better days are ahead of us, we proceed to making the most of everything that we have, some of which we may have overlooked in good times.
