NADCAP and ISO Certifications -

Is your company going for NADCAP and/or ISO Certifications?

Having Industry specific NADCAP Certified and ISO Standards in place are not only good business practices but are required by some of the major suppliers. These standards, at the very least, call for proper documentation and good audit trails through out the processing and production cycles.

In reality, every aspect of a business should have good processes and written procedures in place. They provide good guidelines for all team members to be efficiently trained and to carry out the work in the most consistent and effective manner. More importantly with proper audit trails, they allow feedback and improvement to take place. Being able to respond to customers demand in today's challenging business environment is critical if not vital to the well being of a business.

Implementing these standards can be very time consuming and costly. They require the participation and commitment of everyone in the business. However, having the right software system in place can get the job done with less effort.

One of the main features of such system is being integrated in nature so that all team members could share information securely and in a timely manner. Having different departments using disparate tool sets could impede the flow of information as well as potential for miscommunication, out-dated data and sometimes outright erroneous data because of repetitive data entry.

Another key aspect in the software tool should be the ability to track changes and maintain good history of business activities such as price change, to job order tracking to process revisions to employees review records etc. The list goes on and on.

Another important element of the system, is that it should be quick and easy to use everyday. A poorly design system that requires many steps to complete a specific task or to obtain information can be very costly in the long run. Just imaging the amount of wasted time, even if just a couple of seconds per task, can add up throughout the day especially if it is repetitive. Then scale this up by number of employees over a year or even longer period, the wasted time and efforts do add up over time. Generally a system that is easy to learn and use keeps the training cost to a minimal and reduces mistakes on daily basis.

Flexibility and adaptability are also essential qualities in a system that is design to help your business achieves ISO and NADCAP standards. Not only the requirement and specifications of these standards are constantly begin updated and revised, but the overall business climate and customers demands are also very dynamic, a system has to be able to adapt to handle these changing conditions.

The system attributes mentioned above are just a partial list when evaluating a system to help your business with these standards. We have compiled this list based on many years of experience working with many businesses, helping them to get their certifications. When you are ready to take on these challenging standards contact us to see if we are in the position to help you achieve your business objectives.
